We are delighted to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Hellenic University (IHU), formalizing cooperation and synergies between the two entities.
An outstanding part of this agreement foresees the actual presence of the University’s Technology Transfer Unit within the first Thess INTEC Building. This marks the beginning of IHU’s planned building expansion on-site, which will ultimately accommodate new research infrastructures.
This strategic move clearly reflects the common vision to foster industry-based innovation by integrating research and industry under one roof.
Professor Stamatis Angelopoulos, Rector of IHU, highlighted that the establishment and presence of IHU within Thess INTEC aims to develop “valuable synergies, significant multiplying effects, and economies of scale, with the ultimate aim of fostering a comprehensive open innovation environment.”
Nikos Efthymiadis, Chairman & CEO of Thess INTEC, emphasized the strategic vision behind this collaboration: “The International Hellenic University (IHU) demonstrates continuous and rapid development. It is a strategic priority for us to establish facilities for International Hellenic University, University of Macedonia, and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) within Thess INTEC – Thessaloniki Innovation & Technology Center, as these three universities, together with Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH), will form the pillars of a strong and effective innovation ecosystem.”
